Brian
Bratcher Brian’s Run began in 1978 as a one-time fund raising event
to benefit Brian Bratcher, a West Chester Henderson High School
football player who sustained a life-challenging spinal cord
injury at the age of 15 during a scrimmage. Brian was paralyzed that year, and his friends, their parents and the community as a whole wanted to help. more...
What people are saying about the race "What a great event! This race has it all! The race was so well organized, good weather and a fun hilly challenge! There was an army of volunteers who kept me on the right route through West Chester's neighborhoods. The water stops were staffed and stocked with plenty of much needed refreshments. What a rush to finish with a lap around the track as my name is announced overhead! The hot chocolate and pizza was the best post race meal I've ever had! I WILL be back!"
Volunteer Volunteers are an integral part to Brian’s Run being a success. Volunteers and Community Service groups have been helping this effort for over 30 years. It takes the support of almost 200 volunteers to make sure the race is a success. Community Service groups come in from all of the local high schools, Boy Scout troops, and Fraternities and Sororities at West Chester University. more...
